Pressed Flowers

Fresh flowers wilt and fade soon after they’re picked.  Pressing them and drying them preserves their beauty much longer.

What you’ll need:

  • Freshly picked wildflowers with a flat blossom (buttercup, daisy, cornflower, wild rose, etc.)
  • 2 flat smooth bricks, rocks or big heavy books
  • 2 pieces of waxed paper cut to fit the size and shape of the book or bricks
  • 2 pieces of paper towel cut to fit the size and shape of the bricks or books


How to use it:

Glue it to plain or colored notepaper to make your own stationary.

Glue it to a folded card to make a greeting card.

Press it between strips of clear tape to make a bookmark.

Press it between strips of clear tape to make a suncatcher and hang it in your window.

Glue it to a safety pin to make jewelry.


Tips:
The quicker the flowers dry, the brighter they’ll be.
